Adult Health Nursing
Department of Adult Health Nursing has evolved from an entry level position to a distinct specialty. It is no longer viewed as a steppingstone, but is the solid rock and the backbone of every institution.
Adult Health Nursing department deals with undergraduate students. Department is having highly qualified, experienced and long standing competent faculty with defined research knowledge who uses various modes and innovative teaching methods
Adult Health Nursing department provides an ideal environment for multi professional learning. The curriculum emphasizes art practice and current scientific knowledge foster self directed learning, critical thinking and innovation. Encourage research, promote interdisciplinary collaboration and build professional identity. We provide art of teaching strategies and supervised clinical practice. Moreover, faculty with vast experience and competence is focused to prepare confident, safe and caring health professionals.
The Adult Health Nursing department also provides student centered teaching and learning by adopting innovative teaching learning methods like, Small Group Learning, Self Learning Module, Context Based Learning and Inter professional learning.
Vision
Medical-Surgical Nursing encompasses the care of adult patients undergoing surgical or medical treatments for a variety of conditions. To aid in the creation of qualified professionals who exhibit excellence in nursing practice, teaching, research, and administration.

Facilities
BLDEA’s College of Nursing is attached to BLDE U’s Shri B M Patil Medical College Hospital & Research Centre with 1218 bedded multispecialty hospital, with average bed occupancy of 90 to 100%. The students are provided with an opportunity to master their skills in real clinical settings.
Medical and Surgical Nursing lab is 06 bedded measuring 1500 Sq. ft is well ventilated and spacious, is furnished with latest and suitable equipments, instruments and mannequins – viz stainless steel, glass, aluminum, enamel, rubber and plastic articles. The lab is well stocked with adequate linen to master their clinical skills of the students.
Department of Medical and Surgical Nursing translating the knowledge into practice by providing hands on skill training with simulation corner, self learning desk and placing them in Medical College Hospital and Research Center , Total 1218 bedded Multi super specialty with hi-tech investigation and treatment that helps the students to gain confidence in their nursing knowledge, skills and practice.
The department is also offering additional value added courses namely Geriatric Nursing and Rehabilitation Nursing at the undergraduate level to promote job opportunity in global level and to become a nurse entrepreneur.
Overall skill training in Ventilator care is also offered for the students which will develop confidentiality in giving care in intensive care unit.
